Baked Cracker Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 48 count buttery round crackers (such as Ritz)
  • 6 slices thin-sliced deli ham (honey or Black Forest), quartered
  • 6 slices Swiss or Provolone cheese, cut into 4 equal squares each
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds or sesame seeds

Preparation Steps

  1. Preheat & Prep: Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  2. Assemble Bases: Arrange 24 crackers flat side up on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Layer Fillings: Fold one quarter-piece of ham onto each cracker base, followed by one square of cheese. Top each sandwich with a second cracker, pressing down gently.
  4. Whisk the Glaze: In a small bowl, combine melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and garlic powder until smooth.
  5. Brush & Season: Generously brush the glaze over the top of each cracker sandwich. Sprinkle evenly with poppy seeds.
  6. Bake: Bake for 8–10 minutes until the cheese is completely melted and the crackers are lightly browned.
  7. Serve: Allow to cool for 2–3 minutes before serving hot.
